Only a short train journey (19 minutes in total) from the famous city of Verona, Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy, making it a worthwhile destination for tourists and locals alike.
As you look out on the glistening lake, you’ll be mesmerised by the snow-capped alps surrounding the North side of the lake, while you’ll fall in love with the atmospheric villages and old towns dotted along the lower side of the lake. Lake Garda itself is a perfect destination for families of all ages to enjoy exciting water sports, a refreshing swim, or simply relaxing on the beach with a good book and a fabulous view. You won’t be missing the ocean with an abundance of wonderful beaches to soak up the Italian sunshine while you stroll along one of Italy’s most famous lakes.

As you wander through the tiny alleyways throughout the city, you’ll find hidden gems to be mesmerised by around every corner. From traditional Venetian mask shops where you can find locals painting the masks themselves, to the quaint restaurants situated along the edge of the canals, you’ll want to spend a good amount of time exploring Venice. And of course, if your legs get tired but your sense of adventure and curiosity persist, take a break and be driven around the canals in a traditional Venetian gondola. It may seem like a tourist trap, but here’s a top hint from us: do it with a big group of friends! Take the whole animation team if you can! It will slice the cost right down and is a must-do experience while in Venice! Want one more secret top tip from us? Okay, we’ll give it to you! Do the gondola ride at dusk! The city quiets down at night, and the reflection of the lights on the water will immerse you in the magic of the city even more as you float through the most famous canals in the world.
If you’re looking for even more of an escape, look no further than the smaller islands of Burano and Murano (hyperlinks- to the Ca’Savio PLUS videos of these islands), only a stone’s throw away from the larger island of Venice. You’ll be swept up in a whirlwind of color on the island of Burano while Murano will have you fascinated by local glass-blowers who create the most intricate of glassworks and have been doing so since the 13th century!
